Minutes of Special Council Meeting
January 22, 2001
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Janis Meyer. Present were: Administrator, Hal Osmun; Clerk/Treasurer,
Diane Collins and Councilmembers, Amy Haver, Max McDonald, Mick Pocratsky, and Ed Foster. Haase was absent.
Sales Representative, Greg Brown, from Interior Channel was present to answer questions regarding the waterproofing done in the basement of the fire hall.
Osmun reported that he and Brown went through the basement and discussed concerns. There seemed to be a lack of
communication from the beginning as the basement was not supposed to look like a finished room. Osmun feels the agreement has been followed.
Brown stated the styrene plastic sheeting on the interior walls is to prevent leakage from the exterior walls. If we
decide to finish the walls we should not nail the studs to the styrene. Instead, anchor to floor and ceiling. When asked if we should worry
about block walls breaking down, he responded that Interior Channel routinely drill weep holes in block to allow water to flow out, thus preventing or slowing damage to blocks.
Osmun asked if he could check with the employees who worked in the basement to see if they may know anything about a broken light in the stairway.
Greg Brown was asked to give us a quote to channel under the cabinets.
McDonald moved to approve the bill. Pocratsky seconded. All voted yes.
